CONSIDER THIS: BRING FRESHNESS TO YOUR QUIET HOUR

​READ GENESIS 37-40. How is your personal praying (just between you and God) coming along? Most Christians are carnal Christians. Several years ago, I was invited to participate in a commencement service in a seminary in Indiana. One of the leading Southern Baptist evangelists was invited to bring the main address. Since I had never heard him speak, I was quite alert to receive his message. As was my custom, I took notes as I listened. It was not long that I ceased note sensing something missing in his presentation. Frankly I was quite disappointed in what I was hearing at a very exciting moment in the lives of these graduates. The speaker made no allowance for carnal Christians, true believers living with self in control, not the Holy Spirit. The fact is that there are carnal Christians who will one day have a home in Heaven. I have often stated in a prayer seminar, “Show me 100 Christians and I will show you at least ninety-five, perhaps more, carnal Christians. Consequently most Christians do not have a meaningful consistent prayer life. There will be little interest in spiritual food from the Word of God. Resolve to embrace biblical truths related to getting on praying ground.
